This year marks the 40th anniversary of Frank Miller's iconic comic book series Batman: The Dark Knight™ Returns. In this classic story, the Man of Steel has become a government undercover agent. When the Dark Knight returns from retirement to clean up Gotham, a confrontation between these two titans becomes inevitable. Sideshow and Hot Toys are pleased to present the 1/6 scale Superman™ collectible figure based on his imposing appearance in Batman: The Dark Knight™ Returns. The sixth-scale figure features two newly developed head sculpts that bring the character to life. The first captures his stoic and authoritative expression, while the second features a gritted-teeth expression, battle-damaged with blood-spatter paint. Taking realism to the next level, both head sculpts feature independently rotating eyes and a specially applied UV-light reflective effect that allows collectors to recreate Superman's menacing heat vision under ultraviolet light. Meticulously crafted to capture the distinctive and voluminous art style of the comic book series, this figure stands approximately 34 cm tall and features a newly developed muscular body that perfectly portrays Superman's imposing physique. The expertly tailored costume includes a blue stretch fabric suit that accentuates the musculature with the iconic red and yellow Superman symbol on the chest, a yellow belt, and a flexible red cape with embedded wire and engraved with the yellow Superman symbol for dynamic flying poses. To recreate the brutal combat and dynamic flying scenes from the comic, the figure is equipped with six newly developed interchangeable hands: fists, claw hands, and flying hands. To expand the display possibilities, the figure also includes key weaponry from the comic book series, including a kryptonite arrow and a damaged sonic pistol. The figure is completed with a specially designed display stand featuring the comic book series logo.
